The QWERTZ-German layout is the standard for German keyboards. Although German and English keyboards share a similar design, the reversal of the "y" and "z" keys on the German layout may require some adjustment.

This design choice reflects the higher frequency of "z" in German compared to "y," which is more common in English.

Additionally, many European keyboards do not include specific keys for German special characters like ä, ü, ö, and ß. These can typically be typed using shortcut combinations, but this can be inconvenient and awkward for users.
